OLD RESIDENT PASSES AWAY

MRS. WILLIAM PARKER LIVED IN PLYMOUTH COUNTY FORTY FOUR YEARS

Death claimed Mrs. Annie Parker, wife of William Parker, a resident of Plymouth county for nearly forty years, at a local hospital, Monday night, following an illness of four months caused by the burdening of the arteries and ailments coincident with old age. She was 78 years of age.

Annie Thomas was born at Dodgeville, Wis., November 28, 1848, where she was reared and grew to young womanhood. She was united in marriage in 1865 with William Parker. They were boy and girl sweethearts during civil war times, and a few months after his return from the front, the wedding took place.

Mr. and Mrs. Parker came to Plymouth county in 1882 and settled on a farm south of Le Mars. They then moved to a place on the Mink Creek and later settled near Adaville, where they farmed until moving to Le Mars twenty-one years ago.

Mrs. Parker leaves to mourn her death her aged husband, who is 83 years old, three daughters and five sons, who are Mrs. Kate Moore, of Adaville, Mrs. Fannie Butler, of Sioux City, Mrs. Annie Oakes of Westfield, William and Peter Parker, of Akron, Lee and Wenzel Parker, of Adaville, and Raleigh Parker, of Le Mars. There are seventeen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Four daughters preceded their mother in death.

She also leaves one brother, William thomas, who resides at Elk Grove, Wis.

Mrs. Parker was a devoted wife and mother and gave her life to home making and the welfare of her husband and children. She was of a retiring disposition but her kindness of heart was unbonded and she was neighborly and friendly with those with whom she came in contact, and was highly esteemed in community.

The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Beely funeral chapel where the services were conducted by Rev. Fleming of the Adaville church.
