WILLIAM H. WELCH CALLED BY DEATH

Heart Attack Is Fatal To Elk Point Man Last Friday Afternoon

William H. Welch, of Elk Point, a long-time resident of Union county, S, D., passed away in the Akron Hospital on Friday, May 2, after suffering a heart attack, aged 70-years, 6 months and 28 days.

Mr. Welch was born November 4, 1881, in Johnson county, Missouri. He married Elsie Gardner in 1900 in Union county, S. D. She preceded him in death in 1940. Mr. Welch farmed for many years in Union county and was highly respected. He retired and moved to Elk Point in 1952.

Survivors include four brothers, Harvey, northwest of Akron; Elmer, of Pearblossom, Calif.; and Clarence and Frank, both of Santa Monica, Calif.; three half-sisters, Mrs. Laura Schickner, of Los Angeles, Mrs. Clara Nall, of Sacramento, Calif., and a third who resides at Santa Monica, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Pleasant Hill E.U.B. church, west of Akron, in Union county, and interment was in the church cemetery.
