Note: Her mother's maiden name was Roloff.

Carl and Mary Balk died April 23, 1974 as the result of a car accident.

Joint services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Marvin Krueger officiating. Burial in Arlington Cemetery will be under the direction of the McCulloch Funeral Home.

Mrs. Balk The former Mary Louise Friske, was born on Aug. 23, 1906 near Kingsley. She Married April 3, 1932, at Akron.

The Balks were members of Trinty Lutheran church and Mrs. Balk was a member of a church's women's circle and Moville garden club.

The couple's survivors are a son, William, and a daughter, Mrs. Jerome (Maryann) Neugebauer, both of Moville.

Mrs. Balk is also survived by two brothers Paul and Arthur Friske both of Akron; and two sisters Miss Edna Friske of Hawarden and Mrs. Harry (Mabel) Hillrichs of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Mrs. (Anton) Frieda Scheld.
