Old Resident Of County Passes. Mrs. M.P. Bogh Had Lived Here 63 Years.
Mrs. M.P. Bogh, 126 First avenue SE, Le Mars, died at her home on Wednesday morning, April 11, after a short illness. She was 91 years of age.
Mrs. Sine C. Bogh was born on July 8, 1853, in Denmark. She came to the United States when a young girl and lived in Clinton, Iowa, where she married Marius P. Bogh. She came to Fredonia township, Plymouth county, with her husband in 1882 where they settled on a farm. In 1917 they came to Le Mars. Mr. Bogh preceded her in death 19 years ago and a daughter, Serena Schluter, died 20 years ago.
Surviving her are four sons and three daughters: Peter Bogh, Garretson, S.D.; Chris Bogh, Le Mars; Andrew Bogh, Le Mars; Marius Bogh, Remsen; Mary Lassen, Brookings, S.D.; Lilly Dornbush, Winfred, S.D.; and Celia Porte, Artesia, Calif.; a niece, Marie Nunemaker, Sioux City, whom she raised from childhood; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held from the Mauer Funeral Home in Le Mars on Friday, April 13, at 2 p.m. with services conducted by Rev. John Oerter. Burial will be made in the city cemetery in Le Mars. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, April 13, 1945, page 1.
