Ella M. Frerichs

Ella M. Frerichs, 81, of Akron. Iowa, died Monday, April 14, 1997 at the Akron Care Center following a brief illness.

Services were held April 18, 1997, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Akron, Iowa with the Rev. Allen Bidne officiating. Music was "Softly and Tenderly" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" sung by Randy Frerichs, and "Rock of Ages" and "Beautiful Savior" sung by the congregation. Marietta Nielsen accompanied on the organ. Burial, was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, under direction of Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron.

Casket bearers were Gerald Dean Frerichs, Eugene Frerichs, Gary Marshall, Dennis Rozell, Robert Witt. Alan Witt, Martin Harms and LuVerne Helmrichs.

Mrs. Frerichs was born May 26, 1915 in Akron, the daughter of Herman and Minnie (Witt) Reemts. She married Louis Frerichs July 29.. 1936 in Akron. He died in 1981. The couple farmed for many years retiring in 1974 to Akron. She entered the Akron Care Center in 1989. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active In the church circle and the Home Culture Club of Akron. She enjoyed horticulture, often exhibiting her flowers at the county fair, walking and reading.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Roger and Jeannie of Akron; two daughters and their husbands, Bonnie and Thomas Schiavone of Warminster, PA and Marcille and John Curth of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren, Scott and Gregory Schiavone, Michelle Kelley, Aaron and Leah Frerichs; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Donald; and a sister, Wilma Rozell.
