ESTEEMED AKRON WOMAN CALLED BY DEATH LAST WEEK

Last Bites Held For Mrs. E. H. Youngstrom Sunday Afternoon

A lifetime and revered resident of this community, Mrs. Elva Ross Youngstrom, passed away Thursday, October 20, at the Akron Hospital, aged 76 years, 11 months and 26 days.

Elva Ross, daughter of Boyson and Dora Holst Ross, was born October 24, 1883, in Sioux Valley township, Union county, South Dakota. The family later moved to Akron. During her years, in Akron High school Elva met Eric Hjalmar Youngstrom. After two years of further schooling in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she married Mr. Youngstrom on March 10, 1907. She was a member of the First Baptist church and a charter member of the local chapter of P.E.O. sisterhood.

Virtually her entire life was devoted to her family and friends in and around Akron. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1940.

Surviving are two -sons, Dr. Karl Youngstrom, of Kansas City, Kan., and- Elbert Youngstrom, of Des Moines, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Muriel Stoland, of Lawrence, Kan., and Miss Alta Ross, of Le Mars, la.; four brothers, Dr. Fay Ross, of Whittier, Calif.; Arden Ross, of Tulsa, Okla. Hobart Ross, of Tyler, Texas, an Donald Ross, of Akron; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, afternoon in the First Baptist church Rev. Paul Williams officiating. Mrs Hugh Swift was vocalist and. Mrs Vint. Adams was organist. Caske bearers were Arvel Lake, Walter Young, Parnell Boetger, Arnold Clark Clair McCorkell and Emery Tucker Interment was in Riverside cemetery.

Relatives who came from a distance were: Mrs. Muriel Stoland and son Robert, and daughter, Ruth, of Lawrence, Kan.; Dr. and Mrs. Karl Youngstrom and sons, Kurt and Richard, of Kansas City, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Youngstrom, of Des Moines.
