ESTEEMED UNION COUNTY WOMAN IS CALLED BY DEATH
Rites Are Held Last Friday Afternoon for Mrs. Milford Anderson
Mrs. Milford Anderson, northwest of Akron passed away Wednesday morning, January 12, 1955 following a four-month illness, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota.
Mrs. Edna Anderson was born on January 21, 1912, in Union County, South Dakota. She spent her early childhood on the farm of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. A. Olson. She was baptized at the age of twelve on June 5, 1924, at the Big Springs Baptist church, Alcester, by Rev. B. L Canton.
She was graduated from Akron High school in 1930, and attending South Dakota State College, Brookings, after which she taught rural school near Akron.
She was joined in hold wedlock to Milford Anderson on May 22, 1938. To this union was born three children. Merlowe, age 13; Carol Ann, age 9, and Kay Marie, age 4. She was active in church and community work.
Left to mourn her departure are, her widower; three children; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Olson, of Sioux Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Richard Palmer, of Sibley, Iowa, and Mrs. Chas. M. Johnson, of Sioux Falls, and one brother, Dr. Forrest W. Olson, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; also ten nieces and nephews. One brother, Donald Olson, preceded her death in 1953.
Services were held on January 14, 1955, at the Big Springs Baptist Church, with Rev. Dury Miller officiating. Interment was in the Big Springs cemetery, Union County.
