Life's End

MRS. WATSON REEVES DIES AT HOSPITAL; RITES SET FRIDAY

Mrs. Watson Reeves, 83 [probably actually 73], lifelong resident of the LeMars vicinity, died Tuesday at Floyd Valley hospital after an illness of several months.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic, with Rev. L. V. LaVelle officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. [Father Linus LaVelle served St. James from 1945 to 1969.]

Friends may call at the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday, with the parish rosary scheduled at 8 p.m.

Rose Phillips was born Feb. 13, 1894, in America township, a daughter of the late Dennis and Catherine Phillips. Her marriage to Mr. Reeves took place June 10, 1914, in LeMars.

She was a member of St. James Catholic church and ladies aid and Sioux City St. Monica's guild.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Anna Cattnach [died Dec. 1966], Alice Phillips and Joseph Phillips.
