Obituaries--Watson Reeves
Watson A. Reeves, 93, who had farmed for 50 years in Plymouth county, died Wednesday (Sept. 27, 1978) at Plymouth Manor care center where he had lived since August 1975. He had been ill for some time.
He was born Feb. 22, 1885, at Seney to Mr. and Mrs. John Reeves. He lived there on a farm until his family moved to Bancroft, Neb., where he attended school. After that the family moved to South Sioux City for a year and back to Hancock township in Plymouth county for seven years. After living in South Dakota for a year, he moved back to Plymouth county to make his home.
He farmed for 50 years southeast of LeMars.
His marriage to Rose Phillips took place June 10, 1914, in LeMars. She preceded him in death in 1967. He was also preceded in death by a sister Clara [actually no, he was predeceased by his parents, brother Claude, and sister Bessie Penning].
Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. James church in LeMars with Rev. George McFadden officiating. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery under direction of the Luedtke funeral home.
A prayer service will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
