DEATH TAKES MRS. FARRELL
WAS A RESIDENT OF PLYMOUTH COUNTY SINCE EARLY GIRLHOOD
SUFFERS LONG ILLNESS
WIDOW OF FORMER WELL KNOWN LE MARS ATTORNEY

Death claimed Mrs. Catherine Farrell, a well known resident of Plymouth county since girlhood at her home, 509 First Avenue SW., Friday November 6, at the age of 73 years. Mrs. Farrell had been in poor health for some time suffering from a complication of illnesses.

Mrs. Farrell lived in Iowa all her life. She was the widow of P.F. Farrell, a distinguished member of the Plymouth county bar and county attorney for many years during his life time. Her maiden name was Catherine Murray and she was born in Benton county on October 26, 1858. The Murray family came to Plymouth county in the eighties and settled near Kingsley. There Miss Murray met P.F. Farrell, of Le Mars, they having known each other in Benton county and they were married in Kingsley in January, 1892, and lived in Le Mars ever since that time. Mr. Farrell died about ten years ago.

Mrs. Farrell leaves to mourn her death three children, John Farrell and Mrs. Jos. Kass, of Lemars, and Walter P. Farrell, of Lusk, Wyoming. There are three grandchildren.

She also leaves three sisters and two brothers, who are Mrs. M. Trout, Mrs. C.J. Dugan, of Kingsley, Miss Anna Murray, of Le Mars, A.J. Murray, of Cedar Rapids, and B.F. Murray, of St. Paul.

The funeral was held Monday morning at St. James church and was attended by a large number of old friends and neighbors. Rev. Father L.J. Cooper conducted the rites.

Mrs. Farrell was a good Christian woman and led an exemplary life worthy of emulation. She was a devoted wife, mother, and a cheery friend. She was active in church and interested in community affairs.
