Rites Wednesday for Marie Klingbeil.
Marie D. Klingbeil, 90, of Remsen, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 1992 at Floyd Valley Hospital, Le Mars, after a long illness.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Christ Lutheran Church here with Rev. James D. Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Remsen City Cemetery under direction of the Moeller Funeral Home.
Mrs. Klingbeil, the former Marie Dierksen, was born March 12, 1902, in Plymouth County. She graduated from Remsen High School. She married William W. Klingbeil March 18, 1819, at Le Mars. The couple farmed in Plymouth County until 1938 when they moved to a farm south of Marcus. He died in 1965. For the last 11 years she had lived in Remsen and had been a resident of Happy Siesta Nursing Home since last year.
Mrs. Klingbeil was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and former member of the Ladies Aid. She served as church representative at the Lutheran Children’s Home in Fort Dodge for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Shirley) Reis, of Loveland, Colo., and Mrs. Robert (Joan) Powell of Pierson; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Minnie Miller of Kingsley, Lilly Nelson of Cherokee and Ena Sampson of Akron.
She was also preceded in death by an infant son. – Remsen Bell-Enterprise, Nov. 12, 1992
