William Carl Krekow, 73, of Le Mars, a former Remsen resident, died Monday, Feb. 4, 1991 at Marian Health Center, Sioux City, after an extended illness.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 at Christ Lutheran Church, Remsen.
Pastor Larry Fett and Pastor Philip Krupski officiated. Burial was in the Remsen City Cemetery under direction of the Moeller Funeral Home of Remsen.
Mr. Krekow was born Oct. 9, 1917 at Sioux City to Gustave and Ella (Klingbeil) Krekow. He attended school in Remsen and graduated from Remsen Public School in 1936. His marriage to La Von Newcomer of Marcus took place Feb. 21, 1940 at Christ Lutheran Church, Remsen.
He was a salesman for Community Coop of Marcus for many years and later served a number of years as a crop hail adjuster fore Grinnell Reinsurance Co. and retired from the company in 1978. He had lived in Le mars the past 11 years.
Surviving are his wife, La Von of Le Mars; two daughters, Sonja Smith of Sioux City and Mrs. John (Mary) Clair of Le Mars; three grandchildren; and a sister, Dora Wilkens of Le Mars.
He was preceded in death by his parents. - Remsen Bell-Enterprise
