Taken By DeathMrs. Joan Ferguson, 83, passed away Saturday at her home in Perry Township, where she had resided for 50 years.
Mrs. Ferguson was born October 19, 1864, in Kirkcudbrighshire, Scotland, and was married on January 15, 1884, to Wm. Ferguson. About 63 years ago they migrated to the United States and came to LeMars, Iowa, on June 12, 1885, and she and her husband spent the balance of their lives in Plymouth County. They lived on a farm in Perry Township several miles southwest of Hinton.
Mrs. Ferguson had many friends in the community in which she lived who mourn her passing.
Survivors include two sons, Francis and William Ferguson of this community; a daughter, Mrs. Harry Dehl of Crofton, Neb; a sister Mrs. George Ferguson of James; one brother in Scotland; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Her husband, died in 1911.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Anderson Funeral Home in Sioux City, with Rev. George W. Dunn officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Township Cemetery.

Many old friends and neighbors attended the funeral services for Mrs. Joan Ferguson last week Tuesday afternoon in the Anderson Funeral Home at Sioux City. Rev. George Dunn officiated and burial was in Liberty township cemetery.
