Dorothy W. Ferguson

Dorothy W. Ferguson, 77, Route 1, Sioux City, died unexpectedly Friday (March 4, 1983), at her residence.

Services were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the United Methodist church at Hinton. Rev. Dale Stone officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Ferguson, the former Dorothy W. Rochester, was born June 5, 1905, in Sioux City and was a lifelong resident.

She married Hume Ferguson Dec. 15, 1921, in Sioux City. He died Aug. 10, 1970. She worked for Wincharger Corp. for 20 years, retiring in 1970.

She was a member of the Hinton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, White Shrine, Ladies Shrine Auxiliary, Azure Chapter 540, Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and was Past President of a Demolay Mothers'group.

Survivors are one son, Donald H. of Vacaville, Calif., one daughter Mrs. William (Marilyn) Hamman of Kingsley, Iowa; two brothers, Leroy of Davis, Calif., and Marvin of Sioux City; one sister, Mrs. Donald (Helen) Smith of Sioux City; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
