Life’s End. MRS. IDA SANOW DIES AT HOSPTIAL: RITES SET SATURDAY.
Mrs. Ida Helen Sanow, 78, longtime Le Mars resident, died Wednesday morning at Floyd Vallay hospital after an illness of one week.
Ida Hansen was born to Mr. and Mrs. Chris Hansen at Schleswig, Holstein, Germany, Sept. 10, 1888. Her marriage to Carl Sanow took place Oct. 30, 1907, at Remsen.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John United Church of Christ, with Rev. James Ransom officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen cemetery beside her husband who died Aug. 11, 1950.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the Luken funeral home. Six grandsons will be casket bearers.
Survivors are one son, Leon of Le Mars; six daughters, Mrs. Ella Campbell of El Monte, Calif. Louise Albright and Edith Morgan of Sioux City, Clara Brzuchalski, Adeline Penne and Mrs. Betty Becker, all of Le Mars; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a brother, Hans C. Hansen of Le Mars, and a sister, Mrs. Kate Sanow of Remsen. – Le Mars Globe Post, March 9, 1967, page 2.
