Clyde George Lang, 79, of rural Remsen, died Friday Dec. 4, 1998, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars following a lengthy illness.
Clyde George Lang was born June 1, 1919, at Le Mars, the son of Albert F. and Irene (Stockstill) Lang. He lived with his parents, brothers and sisters in Meadow Township, north of Remsen. He attended country school for eight years and later attended Remsen High School. He started farming in 1941 in The Remsen area and was later joined by his brother Howard.
In October 1996 he moved to Sioux City to live with his brother, Wayne A., due to failing health. He had moved to Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars on Dec. 1.
Clyde loved farming and fishing. He was a member of Plymouth County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include two sisters, Marjorie I. Cote and her husband, Bernard, of Leesburg, Fla., and Grave V. Stine and her husband, William, of Lake Placid, Fla; three brothers, Wayne A. Long of Sioux City, Roger J. Lang and his wife, Helen, of Spokane, Wash., and Howard K. Lang of Remsen; and number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Rheta Rollins; and two brothers who died in infancy.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. today (Monday) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Remsen with the Rev. Craig Miller officiating. Burial was in the Remsen City Cemetery. There was a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. The Moeller Funeral Home of Remsen was in charge of arrangements. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Dec. 7, 1998, page 5.
