Ed Lang Died At Farm Home Thursday, Sept. 4. Had Lived in Meadow Township For Past 60 Years.
Ed. Lang prominent Meadow township farmer, died Thursday afternoon on the farm where he was born 60 years before, after a long illness.
Ed. Lang was born September 6, 1887, in Meadow township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Lang, who came to United States from Switzerland. He was married to Anna Groth who survives him with four children, James, Robert, and Jeannette living in California and Edward at home. He is also survived by two brothers, Walter and Albert of Remsen and three sisters, one sister Mary, having preceded him in death.
Ed. Lang was interested in all community activities as long as his health permitted, was a leader in farm organizations and interested in sports was also active in the Izaak Walton league. He was an outstanding leader in his community.
Funeral services at 2 p.m. Monday at the Moeller Funeral Home and immediately thereafter at St. Paul’s Evangelical church were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Paul Wuebben and burial was in Remsen cemetery. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Sept 9, 1947, page 1.
