Kingsley news-Times: Funeral services were held on Monday, June 27th for Andrew Bruce a long time resident of Woodbury County, having lived on the same farm west of Kingsley for fifty years.
Services were held at the Stiles Funeral Home in Moville and burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.
Andrew Bruce, youngest son of John and Stuart Bruce, was born at Manchester, Iowa, November 4, 1860. At the age of fifteen he came with his parents and three brothers to Odebolt, Iowa.
On March 26, 1885 Mr. Bruce and Margaret McQuistan were united in marriage. To this union four children were born. All are living in the Kingsley vicinity. They are Mrs. C. B. Morgan, Edward, Mrs. Bert Badgerow and Mrs. Jay Lehner.
Mr. Bruce had been in failing health the past few years but was up and about until Monday afternoon. He death came quietly Thursday evening.
His happiest moments were when he had his family around him and his greatest concern was his aged wife. Besides his family he is survived by thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grand children. Pallbearers were six grandsons.
Those from a distance attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McQuistan and son Edward, and Rollie McQuistan, of Pender, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. Cuncan McQuistan, of Walthill, Neb., Mrs. Nellie Bruce, and daughter of Rosmer, Mrs. Margaret Chandler, Mr. and Mrs. George Krusenstjerna, of Odebolt; Mrs. Ross Compton of Ida Grove, Mrs. Earl Manley of Sac City, Mrs. Will Pollar and granddaughter Eloise, of Alta, Miss Mammie Currie, Clint and Asa Currie, of Schaller; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bohlke, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kessenick, of Le Mars, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Badgerow, of Sioux City, Mrs Louis Hager, Mrs. C. T. Coughlin, Mrs. Tillie Johnson, Mrs. James Cliff and Cherry and Mr. and Mrs. George Bolton, of Kingsley.
