Mrs. Jay Lehner

Mrs. Jay (Marguerite) H. Lehner, 74, Le Mars, died Wednesday (Sept. 18, 1974) at Floyd Valley hospital, Le Mars, after a long illness. She had been hospitalized for a week.

Marguerite Bruce was born Jan. 22, 1900 at Moville, the daughter of Andrew and Margaret McQuestin Bruce. She married Jay Lehner July 12, 1921 in Le Mars. As a child she lived at Moville and in 1922 moved to a farm in Union township. In 1972 she retired to Le Mars.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mauer funeral home in Le Mars. Burial will be in the Kingsley cemetery. Rev. Ralph Nelson will officiate. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lehner was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ.

Survivors are her husband, Le Mars; four daughters, Mrs. Orlo (Keith) Heimstra, Letcher, S.D.; Mrs. Howard (Joy) Baker, Correctionville; Mrs. Merrill (Hope) Friedrichs, Anthon; Mrs. Maynard (Betty) DeBoer, Archer; three sons, Verl and Dale, Le Mars and Delmar, Archer. There are 35 grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Bruce, Moville and a sister, Mrs. Lillian Badergow, Harrison, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, an infant daughter and a sister, Mrs. Stuard Morgan; also three grandchildren.
