George Roepke
George Carl Roepke, 67, Kingsley, a Plymouth county native and lifelong resident, died unexpectedly Wednesday (Feb. 8; 1978) at his residence.
He was born Aug. 27, 1910, in Plymouth county west of Kingsley to William and Marie Roloff Roepke, He farmed in Plymouth county since his marriage and the couple retired to Kingsley in 1973. He was a member of the United Methodist church in Kingsley. His marriage to Alice Bainbridge took place Jan. 11, 1933, in Dakota City, Neb.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist church in Kingsley with Rev. Gordon Watson officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley cemetery under direction of the Michaelson funeral home in Kingsley. A prayer service will be' held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors are his wife, Alice, Kingsley; two sons, Jim Roepke, Le Mars, and Armand Roepke, Kingsley; two sisters, Mrs. Emil (Anna) Albers, Kingsley, and Mrs. Elvin (Charlotte) Hopp, Akron, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
