Agnes Gale
Agnes M. Gale, 78, of 3420 Old Lakeport Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 1994, in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
Services were held Monday, Aug. 29, 1994 at Cathedral of the Epiphany Catholic Church with the Rev. Edward Girres officiating. Graveside services were held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Akron, Iowa, under direction of Larkin Northside Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Dan Burke, Tom VanDyke, LeRoy Pick, Eddie Pick, Arden Gale and Donald Gale.
Ms. Gale was born Dec. 8, 1915, in Akron. She graduated from Akron High School. She came to Sioux City as a young woman. She worked at Younkers department store for over 20 years until her retirement.
Ms. Gale was a member of the Cathedral of the Epiphany Catholic Church, the Church Confraternity, Catholic Women's League, Catholic Daughters of America Ave Maria Court 269, and the C.D. of A. Rosary Club. She worked at the Women's League Bargain Center. She was also a member of the Siouxland Senior Citizen Center.
Survivors Include two brothers, Orville Gale of Akron, and Matthew and his wife Lucille Gale of Akron; and three sisters and their husbands, Madeline and Richard Burke of South Carolina, Gertrude and Philip DiMascio of South El Monte, Calif., and Eileen and David Gibeau of Reno, Nev.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Francis, Joseph and Donald Gale; and a sister,
Marcella Pick.A memorial has been established in her name with the Hospice of Siouxland.
