Carl Klave Died Saturday—Funeral Tuesday Afternoon

Carl Klave, son of Mr. and Mrs.Wm. Klave, was born in Germany, October 26, 1866. When he was two years old he came wtth his parents to United States and settled in Clay county. After a few years he and his parents moved to Plymouth county where he resided the remainder of his life.

Mr. Klave was united in holy matrimony with Tena Dirks. To this union eight children were born, two of whom died in infancy. After their marriage they made their home on a farm northwest of Craig.

In 1911, his wife, Tena, was called from this earthly life. Shortly thereafter, another child, Edward, age six, was taken to his eternal home. During the years that followed, he remained on the farm with his children, William, Emil, Alfred, Ida and Harm. This latter named son also preceded his father in death on April 29, 1947, besides three brothers and a sister who also preceded him in death. During the early period of his life he was a member of Christ Lutheran church of Grant township. However, when St. John's Lutheran church of Craig was organized, he became a member of this church which was not far removed from his home, to which church he remained a faithful member. About ten years ago he and his son and daughter moved to LeMars where he spent the eventide of his life.

It was late in March that the hand of affliction was placed upon him so that he had to spend his last days in bed. On Saturday morning a t 10 o'clock. May 22, he died, having reached the age of 82 years and seven months.

Survivors are his children, William, Emil, Alfred and Ida of Le Mars, six granlchildren and three great grandchildren.

A short service will be held at the home in LeMars at 1:30 Tuesday, May 25, followed by a service at the St. John's Lutheran church of Craig, with Pastor W. K. Schmidt in charge of the service. Interment will be the Christ Lutheran church cemetery in Grant township. Pallbearers will be John Plueger, John Schmidt,. Art Winterfeld, Alvin Winterfeld, George Tammen and Otto Oltmanns.

The Mauer Funeral home of LeMars is in chare of arrangements.
