MRS. CHAS. DUNHAM CALLED BY DEATH LAST THURSDAY

Rites Held Monday For Esteemed Union County Resident

Mrs. Stella Dunham departed this life at the Akron Hospital last Thursday afternoon, November 6, 1959, following a brief illness. She was 69 years, 8 months and 9 days of age.

Stella Alice Dunn was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, February 27, 1890. While still in her early teens, her father died, and she accompanied her mother to Elk Point, South Dakota. At Elk Point, on the 23rd of September in 1908, she was united in marriage with Charles Dunham. Thus, a year ago last September, they celebrated the golden or fiftieth anniversary of their wedding. During this period of over fifty-one years they lived and farmed in the Akron vicinity. In the family circle and among those who knew her, her kindness, serenity and love, together with her willingness to give of herself for her family, is known and gratefully remembered.

She leaves to mourn her departure: her husband, Charles Dunham; her three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Crow of Merrill, Iowa, Mrs. Lois Frisk of Akron and Mrs. Betty Jacobson of Gardena, Calif.; her eight sons, George of Los Altos, .Calif., Donald of Elk Point, Robert of Huntington Park, Calif., Charles Jr., Leo, Walter, Roy and Elmer all of Akron; her eighteen grandchildren and her five great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.

A son, Orville, and a daughter, Dorothy, two grandchildren and one great grandchild preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rev. David J. Roy officiating. Mrs. Alvin Frisk was soloist and Mrs. Stewart Harris was organist. Pallbearers were Lewis Dunham, Lloyd O'Conner, Gerald' Dunham, Russel Johnson, Benny Dunham and Donald Harkness. Interment was in Riverside
cemetery.
