JOHN EILERS, 73, DIES AT HOSPITAL; RITES SET SATURDAY

John R. Eilers, 73, Le Mars, died Wednesday at Floyd Valley hospital after a month's illness. He had been hospitalized since March 11.

Mr. Eilers was born June 21, 1894, at Ulm, Ark., the son of the late Gerhard and Helene Eilers. He lived on a Sioux county farm from 1918 until 1932 and farmed in Plymouth county from 1932 until retiring to Le Mars in 1956. His marriage to Theda Johanna Pageler took place in Johnson township July 18, 1917. His wife preceded him in death in 1961.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p. m. at St. John Lutheran church, Craig. Rev. Ernest Christensen will officiate and burial will be in St. John cemetery, Craig, under direction of the Mauer funeral home in Le Mars.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. J . M. (Ella) Corley, rural Le Mars; a granddaughter, Mrs. Theodore (Jean) Witter, rural Le Mars; a great-granddaughter; and two brothers, William, Hawarden, and Louis, Missouri Valley.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters. Mr. Eilers was a member of St, John Lutheran church, Craig.
