Funeral services for Blanche Opal Zigtema, 78, of Tyler are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors with Mark Dahn officiating. Burial will follow in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery.

Blanche died Jan. 10, 2012, in Tyler. She was born Feb. 17, 1933, to George H. Noble and Clara Beitelspacher and raised in Craig, Iowa. She married Raymond Zigtema on April 8, 1951, in Craig, Iowa. Blanche raised four children with Raymond while he worked construction and later owned a dairy farm in White, S.D. They retired and moved to the Tyler area in 1980.

She is remembered as a loving wife, and mother, a kind and gentle woman and a member of the Lutheran faith.

Blanche enjoyed bingo, reading and crossword puzzles. Her cinnamon and caramel rolls, chips and dip and homemade candy were legendary.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Lois Barnhart, Arnold Noble and Lee Noble.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; brothers, Lyle Noble of Spring Hill and Harvey Noble of Ivanhoe, Minn.; four children, Henry Zigtema of Cumming, Ga.; Gail Torrey of Gillete, Wyo., Scott Zigtema of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sam Zigtema of Tyler; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
