Roy Postlewait

Roy Postlewait, 78, of Westfield, died Wednesday (Feb. 10, 1988) in Marian Health Center, Sioux City.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Schroeder funeral home in Akron. The Rev. Norman McCullum officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery in Sioux City. Pallbearers were Robert Anderson, Donald Banks, Bernard Markus, Arden Banks, Edmond Leekley and Richard White. Soloist Shirley Banks sang "He Leadeth Me", accompanied by Sheryl Banks on the piano.

Mr. Postlewait was born Sept. 5, 1909, in Wayne county, Neb., to Harry and Minnie Drain Postlewait. He attended Concord public schools and Laurel high school in Nebraska. He had moved from Wayne county to Dickson county with his family. In 1934, he moved to Sioux township until 1946, when he moved to Hancock township near Westfield. He married Marian Banks Dec. 6, 1944, in Sioux City, la. They farmed all their married life. Mr. Postlewait was a member of the Akron Lions club, Farm Bureau, had served on the Westfield school board and Hancock township election board.

Survivors include his wife, Marian; a daughter Beverly Hey and her husband James Hey of Sioux City; and a sister, Doris Anderson of Ponca, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harold and Howard; and one sister, Helen Toennis.
