Mrs. Florence Banks Westfield resident dies at the age of 93

Mrs. Florence 0; Banks, 93, Westfield, Iowa, died Friday, May 18 at Akron Hospital. The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 21, at the Schroeder Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph Burdette officiated with burial in Logan Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Pall bearers were Gary Banks, John Payton, Donald Banks, LeRoy Boersma, Joe F. Banks, and James Hey.

Mrs. Banks, the former Florence Ross, was born Sept. 16, 1879, in Hancock Township. She was married May 10, 1898, at Le Mars, Iowa. He died in 1919. She continued farming in the Westfield area her entire life.

Survivors include sons Orel of Akron and Alvord, Belmer, Wurth, Lloyd, Joe J., T. Arden and Emmet of Westfield and daughters, Mrs. Roy Postlewait and Miss Vera Banks of Westfield; a brother, Amos Ross of Jefferson, S.D.; 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
