Marvin E. Doering
Funeral services for Marvin Doering, 62, route 3, rural LeMars, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church, Grant township, rural LeMars, with Rev. Robert Reitz officiating.
Burial will be in Christ Lutheran cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.
A prayer service will be held Friday at 7:30p.m. at the Mauer funeral chapel.
Mr. Doering died unexpectedly Wednesday (Feb. 28 1973) at Floyd Valley hospital after suffering an apparent stroke at his home Tuesday night. He was taken to Floyd Valley hospital about 7 p.m. by the Luken-Johnson ambulance.
He was a lifelong Plymouth county resident and was a grain and livestock farmer most of his life. He had farmed in Grant township until the time of his death.
Mr. Doering was a member of Christ Lutheran church and was active in the brotherhood and in community affairs.
Marvin Everett Doering was born Jan. 24, 1911, in LeMars, the son of Albert and Katherine (Lubben) Doering,
He married Minnie Mammen Jan. 20, 1935, in rural LeMars.
Survivors are his wife, Minnie, of rural LeMars; two sons, Robert and Mark, both of LeMars; a daughter, Cheryl, at home; two brothers, Alfred of Merrill and Herbert of Sioux City and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
