Howard F. Dean

Howard F. Dean, 84, Akron, died in the Akron Hospital April 28. Services were at 10 a.m. May 1 at Schroeder Funeral Home, the Rev. Durwood Clauson officiated. Burial was in the Le Mars Memorial Cemetery. Casket bearers were Ted Hoffman, Gene Gunther, James Gabel, Jay Robertson, Cal Robertson and Donald Lucken.

Mr. Dean was born Jan. 24, 1889, at Le Mars; He attended Omaha Business school and worked for the Bell Telephone Co. in Omaha and in California. He also worked as a guard at a refinery in California where he lived until moving to the Akron Nursing Home in April 1972, He served in the Army in World War I.

Survivors include two sister, Mrs. Frederick (Helen) Nichol of Bode, Colo., and Mrs. John (Ruth) Robertson of the Akron Nursing Home.
