PAUL SWEENEY SR. WAS BORN AT HINTON AND FARMED IN COUNTY

Paul Sweeney Sr., 60, a resident of Moville of the last 18 years, died Friday at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Sweeney was born June 17, 1899. at Hinton. He farmed in Plymouth and Woodbury communities before, moving to Moville. Jan. 2, 1929, He married Margaret Schon at Hawarden. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Moville.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Therese Middleton of Salem, Ore.; two sons, Paul Jr. and Richard, both of Moville; six brothers, Rev. Richard, V. Sweeney of Danbury, D. J. Sweeney of Sioux City, Thomas H. Sweeney of Akron, James J. and Peter M. Sweeney, both of Sioux Falls, and George Sweeney of Merrill; and three sisters. Sister Mary Consolota, O. S. F., of Gainer, Mrs. Eugenie Vondrak of Hinton and Miss Isadora Sweeney of Danbury.

Solemn high mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Jean Baptiste Catholic church, Sioux City. Rev. Richard V. Sweeney, brother of Paul Sweeney, will be celebrant; Rev. Harold Cooper, deacon of the mass; Rev. J. G. Skhill, sub-deacon and Rev. Steve Geusic, master of ceremonies. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City.
