Isadora Sweeney

Isadora Sweeney, 90, Sioux City, died Tuesday (Nov. 22.1983) in a Sioux City hospital after an illness of several months.

Services were at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Monsignor Richard V. Sweeney, brother of the deceased, officiated. Bishop Frank H. Greteman gave the homily. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. The rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday in Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Miss Sweeney was-born Oct. 15. 1893, in Plymouth County to Thomas and Mary Barrett Sweeney. She spent her early years in the teaching and business profession. Since 1945 she had been the housekeeper for her brother. Msgr. R.V. Sweeney, making her home with him recently at the Blessed Sacrament rectory. She had lived in Sioux City for the last 10 years. Miss Sweeney was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the church Confraternity and the Carmel Auxiliary.

Survivors are two brothers. Msgr. R.V. of Sioux City and Peter M. of Sioux Falls.; two sisters, Sister Mary Consolata Sweeney OSF or Mt. St. Francis Convent in Dubuque, and Mrs. Eileen Vondrak of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers.
