SWANSON, LUNDGREN, CAMPBELL

Mrs. Lillian Swanson departed this life last Tuesday, New Year's Day, January 1, 1974, at our Akron Hospital, following an illness of several weeks. She was 90 years of age.

Services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Immanuel Lutheran church at Akron. Rev. David Roy officiated and burial was in the Union Creek cemetery near Akron. Pallbearers were Fred Claesson, Jr., Lyle F. Jacobs, Richard Dirks, Arthur Hasenbank, Cyril Larsen and Melvin Hansen.

Lillian Claire Campbell was born in Pecatonica, Illinois, October 19,1883. Her parents were William and Julia Campbell. She became a member of the church through baptism in 1905. At a wedding in 1900 she was united in marriage to Daniel Campbell. Mr. Campbell died March 17,1911. On December 17, 1919, Mrs. Campbell married August Lundgren at a wedding service in Elk Point, South Dakota. The Lundgrens lived in and around Akron until the death of Mr. Lundgren January 31, 1951. Mrs. Lundgren became a member through confirmation of Immanuel Lutheran Church October 17, 1926, and was a member in good standing of this church at the time of her death. In so many ways she with her husband was active in the worship, life and service of this congregation. Wherever she could help out, she was there ready to give of the finest of her efforts. She was a warm, friendly person who attracted a wide circle of friends in her community and church. Prior to her affiliation with Immanuel Church, she was active in her service of Union Creek Church. In September, 1952, she was married to Axel Swanson. During the time they lived in Arizona, she was active in the Lutheran Church in Tempe, Arizona. Mr. Swanson died in 1963, Since his death, Lillian Swanson had lived in Akron.

Among those who survive her departure are: her son, Chester C. Campbell of Sioux City, Iowa; her two grandchildren and her five great-grandchildren; her other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her 3 brothers and 2 sisters, and her daughter, Mrs. Alice Bleckwenn.
