Mrs. Lester (Olive M.) Sanford, 98, Westfield, a former Westfield postmistress, died Jan. 7 at her home after a seven-month illness.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 9 at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron with the Rev. Ralph Burdette officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Akron.

Mrs. Sanford was born May 27,1875, at West Union. She was married Feb. 26, 1896, at West Union. They lived in eastern Iowa and Colorado before farming in Iowa and Minnesota. She was postmistress at Westfield for 20 years before her retirement. He died in 1963.

Survivors include a son, Sidney of Richmond, Calif.; a granddaughter, and three great-grandsons.
