Barton M. Tone, 65, retired Hawarden service station operator, died Aug. 28, 1976 in an Iowa City hospital.

Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 1 at the Hawarden Baptist Church, the Rev. Arthur DeNeuii officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, under the direction of Dow funeral home, Hawarden.

Mr. Tone was born Dec. 2, 1910, near Akron. He married Mildred Bradley in 1930. She died in 1931. He married Dolly Robertson, Aug. 14, 1937.

Survivors include the widow; his mother Mrs. Grace Tone Jans, Akron; two daughters, Mildred Tone of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Evert (Barbara) Falkena of North Platte, Neb.; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Wilson, Edgerton, Wis., Mrs. Naomi Reinhardt, Torrence,. Calif., and Mrs. Elaine Wright of California; two brothers, Gerald of San Diego, Calif., and Ransom of Silvis, Ill.; several grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
