William Claus Frerichs, 61, Akron, Iowa died Wednesday, April 11 at a Sioux City nursing home after a long illness.

The funeral was 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Akron. The Rev. James Sandvik officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. There was a prayer service at 8 p.m. Friday, April 13 at the Schroeder Funeral Home at Akron.

Mr. Frerichs was born March 2, 1912, at Akron. He farmed in Plymouth County until moving to Akron in 1959.

Survivors include his parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry R. Frerichs of Akron, and brothers, Alvin of Hawarden, Iowa, Henry Jr., of Maurice, and Marvin and Arnold, both of Sioux City.
