Mrs. Gene R. Olsen

Mrs. Gene R. Olsen, 3301 Virginia St., died Monday, April 9 at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

The former Evah McCorkell, she was born in Akron, Iowa, and moved to Sioux City in 1931. She was employed for many years at Wincharger and Zenith Corp. and for the past two years by Dyna Technology, Inc.. She was married to Mr. Olsen July 29, 1949.

Survivors Include the widower; a son, William (Bill) Davis of Lombard, HI.; a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Caryl) Banks of Akron, Iowa; eight grandchildren; a brother, Wesley McCorkell of Canistota, S.D.; and five sisters, Mrs. John (Caryl) Siebens and Mrs. Melvin (Lois) Nielsen of Akron, Mrs. Oscar (Alta) Mentzer of Struble, Mrs. Clair (Jeanne) Esterburg of Alexandria, Minn., and Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Whitaker of Ferris, Ill.

Nelson-Berger Northside Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
