Mrs. Ray Ogden, 89, passed away January 23, 1973 at the Akron Hospital after an illness of several months.
The former May Violet Wagner was born October 11, 1883 at Momemce, Ill. the daughter of Albert and Katherine Wagner. While still a small child, she moved with her parents to Dakota City, Iowa where she attended school. She lived there until her marriage to Ray B. Ogden on June 24th, 1903. They lived on a farm south of Akron until retiring to Akron in 1958. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1953. Mr. Ogden died in 1961.
Survivors are two sons Bartley of Odebolt, Iowa, Gene of Arlington, Va.; two daughters Mrs. Clarence Eilers of Alcester, S.D. and Mrs. Grant Gassman of Akron; one brother Lester Wagner of Minneapolis, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren .
Funeral services were held at the Schroeder Funeral Chapel, Friday morning, January 26 with Rev. Ralph Burdette officiating.
Casket bearers wereLyle Jacobs, Jerry Eilers, Kenneth Fertig, Kim Eilers, Kent Ogden and Alan Ogden. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron.
