Pauline Lias, 82, Westfield, died. Feb. 14, 1991 at the home other son in Sioux City.
Services were held- at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Westfield Congregational church. Rev. Martin Healy officiated. Sheryl Banks, accompanied Shirley Banks, soloist, who sang "Nearer My God To Thee" and "The Lord's Prayer". "How Great Thou Art" was sung by the congregation. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Akron, under direction of Schroeder funeral home, Akron.
Active pallbearers were Marlin Hoffman, Dennis Lias, Herbert Lias, Michael Lias, Brett Wirth and Matthew Wirth. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Banks, Jerry Dennison, Tom Dennison, Jim Leuenhagen, David Moffatt, and Ron Nesbit.
Mrs. Lias, the former Edna Pauline Michael, was born April 28, 1908, in Eton, Ind., daughter of Harry and Pearl Mae (Young) Michael. At a young age, she moved with her family to the Westfield area and attended Westfield Consolidated schools." She married Wayne Lias Aug. 15, 1927, in Westfield. The couple farmed in the Westfield area all their married life. Mr. Lias died Jan. 1, 1973. Mrs. Lias was a member of Westfield Congregational Church, where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She loved fishing and crocheting.
Survivors include three sons and their wives, Harry and Patty of Chino Valley, Ariz., Donald and Mary Agnes of Jefferson, S.D. and Norman and Mary Lou of Sioux City; two daughters, Helen Hoffman of Westfield and Frances Wirth and her husband, Alan of Blue Earth, Minn.; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Lias of Akron; and a brother-in-law, Melvin Lias of Sun City, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; a grandson, Donald James Lias; and a son-in-law, Daryled Hoffman.
