Mrs. Hattie H. Reich, 78, of Le Mars, died unexpectedly Monday (June 5, 1972) at Floyd Valley hospital. Luken-Johnson ambulance had taken her to the hospital late Saturday.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 7 at Grace Lutheran Church at Le Mars.

The former Hattie Briese, she was born February 9, 1894, at Battle Creek, Nebr., a daughter of the late Gustav and Olga Fuchs Reich. She married Carl J. Reich May 17,1916, at Loretta, Nebr. The couple farmed in the Akron, Hinton and Le Mars area and moved to Le Mars in 1949. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Le Mars.

Mrs. Reich was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three children and two brothers.

Survivors are seven sons, Irwin and Eugene, both of Sioux City, Arthur of Lakewood, Calif., Roland of Waverly, Robert and Charles, both of Akron and Lawrence of Hinton; four daughters, Mrs. Chester (Shirley) Mesner, Mrs. Wayne (Helen) Kenowith and Mrs. Roger (Dorothy) DeYoung, all of Le Mars, and Mrs. Alice Ege of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. Julius (Clara) Gerling of Norfolk, Nebr., 28 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
