Lawrence Gale, 83, Akron, died last Tuesday at the Akron hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic church with Rev. Stanley R. Stone officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery under direction of the Schroeder Huneral Home, Akron.

He was born August 24, 1887, near Akron. He married Catherine McManaman October 10, 1910, at Hawarden. He was a lifelong resident of the Akron area.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Orville of Le Mars, Francis and Matt, both of Akron; five daughters, Agnes and Mrs. Richard Burke, both of Sioux City, Mrs. Leroy Pick of Sergeant Bluff, Mrs. Phillip DiMascio of El Monte, Calif.; and Mrs. David Gibeau of Bell Gardens, Calif.; a brother Earl of Akron; a sister, Viola Gale of Akron, 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
