Funeral services for Charles A. Burnight, age 81, Sioux City, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Edward C. Lilly officiated. Graveside services were at 12:45 p.m. Saturday in St. Catherine's Cemetery at Akron, Iowa. The Rev. Stanley Stone officiated. Burial was under direction of the Larkin Funeral Home of Sioux City. Pallbearers were Robert Barber, Michael Redmond, Terry and Lowell Stinton, Everald Taskert and Patrick Burnight. The Rosary was recited at 7:30 o'clock Friday at the funeral home by the Holy Name Society and at 8 o'clock by parishioners.

Mr. Burnight died Thursday at a Sioux City hospital after a month's illness.

Mr. Burnight was born March 19, 1889, at Akron, Iowa, and lived there until coming to Sioux City 30 years ago. He married Catherine Gibbons In 1911 at Akron. She died in 1963. Mr. Burnight was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.

Survivors include a son Ted of Hawarden, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Madeline Vanderham of Sioux City, a brother, Henry of Chatsworth, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Lawrence Gibbons of Akron, Iowa; five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
