Funeral Thursday for Mary Stewart. Mrs. C.E. (Mary) Stewart, 94, died Monday, Jan. 6 at Happy Siesta nursing home here. She had lived at the home the past two and one-half years.
Mrs. Stewart’s husband was one of Remsen’s first physicians.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stewart were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 at the Moeller Funeral Home here. Rev. Thomas Renquist, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiated. Burial was in the Remsen city cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart, the former Mary Hoffman, was born March 27, 1880 at Remsen.
Survivors are a son, Robly Stewart of Jacksonville, Fla., and two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Kas of Sutherland and Etta Rinehart of Remsen.
Pallbearers were Elmer Holtgrewe, Frank Hewicker, Leo Cassidy, Cyril Kramer, Harold Kloster and Les Peters. – Remsen Bell-Enterprise, 1975
