Funeral Thursday for LeRoy Letsche. LeRoy George Letsche, 77, of Remsen, died Monday, Oct. 20, 1986 at St. Luke’s medical Center, Sioux city. He was hospitalized for 12 days.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct.23 at Christ Lutheran Church here. Rev. Lee R. Mentink officiated. Burial was in the Remsen City Cemetery under direction of the Moeller Funeral Home. Graveside military rites were conducted by the V.F.W. and American Legion Posts of Remsen.
Mr. Letsche was born Aug. 8, 1909 in Plymouth county, the son of Martin and Frieda (Schmidt) Letsche.
His marriage to Evelyn Klingbeil took place Nov. 14, 1948 at Remsen. They farmed southeast of Remsen until retiring in 1975. They moved into Remsen in 1979,
Mr. Letsche was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he served as elder and trustee for a number of years and was also chairman of the board. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the disabled American Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; three sons, Vernon, Martin and Gary, all of Remsen; three daughters, Carol Lynn of Spencer, Mrs. Andy (Susan Nancy) Nelson of Royal and Julie of Remsen; two sisters, Mrs. Ruben (Ruth) Rogness of Royal and Mrs. Maynard (Faye) Douglas of Waterloo; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and a sister. – family news clipping
