John Edward Hartman, 66, Akron, died Tuesday, January 20, at the Akron hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services were held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Harris Hostager officiating. Burial was in the Riverside cemetery under the direction of Schroeder funeral
home.

Active pall bearers were: Wilbur Hartman, Norman Hartman, Robert Hartman, LuVern Helmrichs, Danny Kruse and Bernard Hendricks, Honorary bearers were: Orval Jurgensen, Charles Hendricks, Rudolf Twedt, Hellmuth Schwiesow, Leonard Johansen and Caryle Dirks.

He was born March 8, 1903, at Struble and farmed in the Akron-Hawarden area until he retired to Akron in 1967. He married Kathrine Mollhoff April 28,1926,; at Akron.

Survivors are: his wife; a son, Lowell of Ireton; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Twedt of Hudson; three brothers, Alfred of Akron and George and William, both of Hawarden three sisters, Mrs. Henry Helmrichs of Akron, Mrs. Fred Jacobs and Mrs. George Kruse, both of Le Mars and four grandchildren.
