(Died November 25, 2009) Mauer Johnson Earnest Funeral Homes, LeMars, Plymouth, Iowa, USALe Mars, Iowa – Minnie C. Plueger, 103, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Brentwood Good Samaritan Village in Le Mars. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Christ Lutheran Church, (Grant Township) rural Le Mars, Iowa. Rev. Dan Gerrietts will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 29 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. The family will be present from 6-8 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral service.
Wilhelmina Caroline Weber was born on April 17, 1906 in Tallula, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Tena (Eilers) Weber. Minnie’s family moved to a farm north Brunsville, Iowa eleven months later. She was confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Brunsville and attended country school near her home. After her education she assisted her family with farming and housework.
On September 2, 1924 Minnie and Fred Plueger were united in marriage. Minnie joined Christ Lutheran Church, where Fred was a member. The couple farmed in the area for many years. They were blessed with three children, Arlene, Gladys and Stanley. Fred passed away on November 5, 1985.
Minnie was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church. She participated in circle, helped with cleaning and funeral lunches. She was a fantastic baker and was known for her pumpkin pies.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Arlene Olson of Le Mars, Iowa and Gladys Schulz and her husband Lester “Bud” of Merrill, Iowa; grandchildren Denny Petersen of Sioux City, Iowa and Kim Plueger of Le Mars, Iowa, and Kelly Plueger and his wife Julie of Craig, Iowa; a great-granddaughter Isabelle Plueger of Craig, Iowa.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; a son and his wife Stanley and Helen Plueger; a son-in-law William Olson; three sisters and six brothers.
