Fred L. Plueger, 82, of Le Mars, died Friday (Nov. 8, 1985) at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Sioux City. Services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Christ Lutheran church, rural LeMars. The Rev. Jack Hebard officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of Mauer-Johnson funeral
home of Le Mars. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Mr. Plueger suffered massive burns Friday, Oct. 25, when his clothing caught fire as he drove his pickup in the Brunsville area. His grandson, Kelly Plueger, 16, was driving a tractor with a load of corn behind Plueger. Kelly said his grandfather stopped the pickup and got out on the road. Kelly rolled Plueger in the grassy ditch to put out the flames

Mr. Plueger was born Feb. 17, 1903, in Preston township, Plymouth county, to Henry and Trinka Dirks Plueger. He was a retired farmer.who lived.all his life in Plymouth county. He married Minnie Weber Sept. 2, 1924, in rural LeMars.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Stanley .of Le Mars; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Arlene) Olsen of Le Mars and Mrs. Lester (Gladys) Schulz of Merrill; two brothers, Richard and Henry, both of Le Mars; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Bill; an infant brother and an infant sister; three sisters, Anna, Emma and Mary.
