They came to Plymouth county in 1888 settling on a farm nine miles south of Remsen. Mr. Ehmsen died in 1900. The widow with their only son, Louis, continued to live on the farm until 1917, when they moved to Remsen. The deceased also leaves a brother and two sisters, Conrad Sievers, Lake City, Minn.; Mrs. Charles Miller, Savannah, Ill.; and Mrs. Sophie Speth, Helmont, Wis. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Fred Wahlers, of the Lutheran church was held in Remsen on Tuesday. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Friday, October 17, 1919, page 1.
