REMSEN MAN FOUND DEAD IN HIS CHAIR. LOUIS EMENSEN SUCCUMBS TO INFIRMITIES OF OLD AGE; FOUND SUNDAY A.M.
The body of Louis Ehmensen [Ehmsen], 65 years old, was found sitting in a chair at his home in Remsen Sunday morning by a roomer in the house which Ehmensen rented. He had been dead several hours. Death was due to natural causes, according to county coroner, L. E. Mauer.
Ehmensen was on a booze party the night before, according to Remsen people. The house in which he lived was said to be filled by unpleasant odors and sights.
Funeral arrangements had not yet been made this morning. Ehemensen was not married and his relatives all live in eastern Iowa and in Illinoi. The body is being held in the morgue of the Moeller Furniture Co., at Remsen, pending instructions from relatives.
Ehmensen has been a resident of Remsen and vicinity for 35 years. He formerly farmed near Remsen but has been retired for a number of years, renting a house at Remsen. – LE Mars Globe-Post, Dec. 6, 1926, page 1.

REMSEN. (From theBell-Enterprise). Louis Ehmsen last week sold his residence property in the west part of town to Mrs. Peter Moeller, for $2750. Mr. Ehmsen intends to leave Remsen shortly on an extended visiting trip with relatives in various parts. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Jan 20, 1920, page 2.

REMSEN. (From the Bell-Enterprise). Louis Ehmsen, a former Remsen resident who moved to Galena, Ill., three years ago, has returned and will make his home here again. Mr. Ehmsen arrived here Sunday morning, and his household goods have already been shipped and are expected here soon.
