MRS. JOHN LANG, MOTHER OF DEPUTY SHERIFF, DIES ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
Mrs. John Lang, one of the pioneer settlers of the northeast part of Plymouth county died last Saturday at the home of her son, Sam Lang, Plymouth county deputy sheriff, after a long illness. She was 85 years old. The funeral was held today and burial was at the Remsen cemetery, beside the body of her husband, who preceded her in death several years ago.
She leaves to mourn her death, her sons, Sam, of Le Mars, and William, of South Dakota. Deceased was born in Switzerland and came to this country as a young woman. She and her husband farmed in the southeastern part of the county until they came to Le Mars. They have a pleasant home a short way into the country, across the road from the Grimes sand lake. Mrs. Lang lived in South Dakota for a while, but returned to Le Mars when Sam Lang returned from California. – Le Mars Globe Post, Feb. 9, 1925, page 9
