J.E. Klinck had been on the sick list for some weeks, but his friends never thought that there was any cause for fear of such results as were given out at a late hour on Tuesday, August 2d. When it was said that Klinck had succumbed everybody was fairly shocked. J.E. Klinck came to Remsen with his family to take charge of the Remsen creamery five years ago. Jesse Elwood Klinck was born at Sublette, Ill., on the 15th day of October, 1875. On the 8th day of September, 1900, he led to the altar at Mendota, Ill, Miss Mary Kelley, who survives him. Their union was blessed with three children, Ethel, Rolla and Howard Elwood. Ethel died while the family lived in Remsen in 1907. With the hard stricken widow and two little children, his mother, Mrs. L.A. Petit, of Correctionville, Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. J.P. Coyle, of Anthon, Iowa, mourn his too early demise. - Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Aug. 9, 1910, page 2.
Note: The surname on the gravestone reads “Clink”.
